Tocal

What a day today.

Wake up at …. 6:15am. Stay in bed till 6:30am. Get up, get dressed, go downstairs for breakfast. Last minute preparations for Tocal Excursion. Rush out of house at 7:00am exactly to the bus stop. Arrived about one minute before the bus came (Wow.. it was actually on time. I must congratulate Sydney Buses).

Arrive at school at 7:40am-ish. Meet up with Bryan. Meet up with more cGroup. Stand there laughing and talking and anticipating the day. Go on bus (muahahah luxury buses…). Be bored for 2.5 hours damn it.

Arrive at Tocal at like…. 10:30am? Roll call yeh yeh. Wander off =) Firstly, we tried to find the toilets (guys). Jinghang, our oh-so-much-common-sense guide led us to the GIRLS’ toilets. Yes… very nice. After toilets, tried to find a lecture to attend and walked into one half-way through its progress. As we were scheduled to meet our teacher at 11:30am at some random place, we left after 10 minutes. Great lecture wasn’t it? We left too early and so we wrote up a random Macadamia Exhibition. Another roll call. Off again.

Went around completely randomly, looking for……………. food. We went to some food stores. Jinghang bought hot chips. Jason bought a kebab. Bryan bought hot chips. Blair bought a random sandwich. Bryan decided to try 10++ chilli sauce and had no reaction whatsoever. He now currently holds the record of the most chilli tolerant person I have ever met. Jingjing tried it as well. Went on his slightly cracked lips and he got owned. So we randomly rushed off to random places. We went to a random Ice-Cream Exhibition and Jinghang bought a small (tiny) tub of ice-cream for $4.50. Rip-off. Bryan, Jason, Blair and I went to an Oak Milk Bar and bought ice coffee, chocolate milk, chocolate milk and ice coffee respectively. Then we went to meet our teacher for the second time at 12:30pm. Another roll call.

Wandered around the rest of the area. Not very interesting. For the last twenty to thirty minutes we went to the dining hall for a PROPER meal. For the last ten minutes we went to the toilets. A whole group of Primary School kids came in as well and filled up the urinal. As we went out, Evgeny decided to be evil and turned off the lights. All the primary kids screamed. o.O Their teacher (female) said, “Don’t make me come in there!”

Back to the entrance. Roll call. Back on the buses. Spent half the bus trip trying to work out how to close the gap in the damn curtains. We finally managed to do so by stuffing cushions in there. Jason Wen brought us about 10 cushions. Took them from the luggage racks. Bryan attempted to sleep but couldn’t due to the fact that Jason was whacking him with cushions, pinching his nose, and blowing his eyes. Bryan got pissed and accidentally slid of his chair. Since his seat was screwed, it flipped open (o.O) revealing a hole under the chair. All the cushions fell into the hole. Bryan put the seat back (all the cushions were still under the hole except one that Bryan picked up) and tried to sleep again. But Jason pissed the hell out of him and he got very pissed. I might add that when Jinghang sings a song, he makes it sound ten times more romantic XD. With half an hour left of the journey, Bryan reopened his seat and pulled out…. a packet of chips?! We all rofled and laughed our heads off. Rest of the journey was boring.

Back to school. Waited 5 minutes for my dad and we went home.

(One day late)

Yes, it’s time to say goodbye to the enjoyable world of the holiday. Now it’s time to face another term of hard work and the dreaded half-yearlies. How sad…

First day of school:

A relatively uneventful day. Apart from the morning that is. My brother and I walked to the bus stop at 8:00am as usual. We waited for the bus to come. The first Parra bus came. And it was too full, so it skipped us, leaving my brother and I fuming with rage. We waited and waited…. and waited. Until finally the stupid second Parra bus came AT 8:40am! Record holder. Thankfully, no people were waiting for the bus (I presume they all walked to school or caught another bus) so we managed to make it to school about a minute before the bell rang. I might add the fact that that was the first bus trip where we didn’t stop at the Bettington Road/Pennant Hills Road traffic lights. Another record.

First two periods: P.E. I scored a goal in soccer. How…. unexpected. Maybe it was because the girls ran away from the ball. Ahh well.

Then assembly (right… so it’s after period 2?). Damn that was the most boring assembly I have ever attended. Some boring speech about 2020 Summit or something like that. The second half was a bit more interesting with a random Year 11 dance group dancing to an Indian song I realised that I actually have on my computer. Then Prefect News. Nothing much. Athletics Carnival and 3on3 BBall.

After assembly, recess. I went to the Accounts Office to pay of my Tocal Excursion. Damn huge line there. Spent the whole recess there.

After recess was period 4 (or so I thought it was until a Year 11 told us otherwise). Hurried from W1.2 to F1.1. Literally across the WHOLE bloody school (not including the farm) and only JUST made it in time to AG, right before Mrs Roberts marked the roll. About 5 people got busted by her because they thought it was period 4. We went down to the farm where I harvested two huge Buk Choys and got stung by an effing Stinging Nettle.

Then, the real period 4 came. English. Oh noes. Mr Chandra Handa announced that we should try and make this term the best in our high school lives so far by listening to teachers and doing all our homework within the time limit (with Catherine in the class?). We received a new book, Looking for Alibrandi, and then the bell rang.

Lunch was pretty random. Usual things happened. Jinghang grossing us out as usual. Discussing holidays.. not really.

Period 5. Japanese, my favourite subject by far. There, I had to return the Studio Ghibli Movie Collection that I borrowed off Ms Lee for the holidays. Immediate reaction of Jenny Wang: “OH MY GOD!” Quite predictable, yes? Considering that EVERYBODY wanted the movie collection. Oh well, the rest of the lesson was very enjoyable. Randomly talking to Bryan about animes and such.

Period 6 and 7. Geography, the most boring subject that ever landed on Earth (for this year that is). McNulty announced that we would be going down to T1.5 to work on our assignments IN THE SECOND PERIOD after we finished a worksheet on comparison of accounts of natural disasters or something like that. So we went down to the computer room, kicked the seniors out of there (haha owned) and started our work. Actually, McNulty lied. We were NOT doing our assignments. Instead we were doing a worksheet on droughts. *sigh* Oh well.. I downloaded the setup file for Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 over there and randomly made everybody think that I had Windows Vista. Lol?

After school, I had Chemistry Olympiad Training. I sort of regret making that decision now. More Periodicity. *yawns* Probably the most interesting thing was playing around on Gerald’s PDA. Quite a cool one. I like it =) Went home by bus (since my dad went to pick up my bro). Almost dark by the time I got home. Rang the bell. Nobody home, which struck me as strange. My mum is usually home. I opened the door (thankfully, I brought my keys) and entered my empty home. 5 minutes later, my mum came home.

Went to a Rotary meeting with my brother (he’s in Interact and he’s a leader). The leaders of the Interact Club of JRAHS made a presentation telling the Rotary Club about them. The food was nice.. mmm…..

Got back home. Played piano for a while. Went upstairs and started reading Looking for Alibrandi. Finished… half the book before I had to go to sleep at 12:00am.

Thus ends my first day of Term 2.

Holidays

Happy Holidays everyone! Bit nice to have a two-week break from an eleven-week term.

Such an interesting start to my holidays:

1st day (Friday): Come back home. Celebrate about the fact that I got Ms Lee’s Studio Ghibli Movie Collection off her. Watch Laputa – Castle in the Sky. Then go upstairs to my brother’s room and watch the last….. half an hour (?) of The Da Vinci Code. hehehehe…

2nd day (Saturday/today): Wake up in the morning. Go downstairs. Watch Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind while having breakfast. Then do a bit of normal-Saturday stuff. Then start watching Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man’s Chest.

Such a wonderful start to my holidays. Watch 4 DVD’s (actually 3 and 1/5). Oh well… Looking forward to watching more of Studio Ghibli Productions =)

Oh and the start of the holidays are ruined by the fact that I’ve got Chandra Handa assignment due tomorrow 8pm. T.T At least I’ve done my draft =.=

Oh well… have a nice holiday.

Memories are like…

I’m bored… I’ll write about the creative writing we did in class with Mr Chandra Handa over the past week.

We were talking about memories, its similies and metaphors. Here are some interesting ones that my class came up with.

Memories are like bottles of wine, increasing in value with each passing year. (Michelle Poon)

Memories are words etched into a plaque, slowly and painfully eroding away. (Walter Kong/Richard Du)

Memories are like gems hidden within the earth; the longer you hold on to them, the more precious they become. (Walter Kong/Richard Du)

Memories are like reflections in a mirror, showing what’s behind us. (Me)

Memories are like broken pencils; pointless. (Joe Zhang)

Memories are like a persistent mother-in-law. (Leslie Le)

There were many others, but I can’t be stuffed to remember them all.

A few of Mr Chandra Handa’s:

Memories are like the silver meander of a slug’s trail.

Memory is its own animal; it can hibernate, spawn and rise up.

The long, thin knife of memory.

The memories had been swabbed onto his mind, like bacteria onto a petri dish.

China

My mum just went to China today. More specifically, she’s going to Pudong International Airport on Air China flight no. CA176. Damn it. I want to go to Shanghai as well. I just hope she brings back something nice =) (hehe walnuts!!)

Now, on to random stuff:

  • Air China’s logo is a phoenix in the form of the acronym VIP
  • Air China is the world’s 18th largest airline by fleet size (it has 223 planes)
  • Shanghai is the largest city in China and the 8th largest in the world
  • Shanghai includes the 2nd tallest skyscraper in the world (Shanghai World Financial Centre) and the 6th tallest skyscraper in the world (Jin Mao Tower)
  • I haven’t been to China for 3 and a bit years
  • China has 5 different international airlines (honestly, what’s the damn POINT?)

Feelings

Why am I feeling downright miserable? At least it’s not to the extent that I become emo. *sigh* I’ve just had the fun sapped out of life. Gaming has been banned, homework has reached up to Mount Everest and assignments have probably pissed my computer off as well. I’ve decided not to go on MSN until I’ve finished ALL the work that is due the next day. That probably means that I’m not going to be on MSN for a while…

I just wish I could stop procrastinating. And then, I would have more time for hobbies (i.e. reading books). I haven’t even had time to read a book! I was hoping to read Matthew Reilly before the end of this term. Now, that’s impossible.

I feel so damn frustrated with myself. Sometimes, I just sit there… looking at my open science book, knowing that it’s due tomorrow, and yet, I still don’t start it. And also, I’ve even been lagging behind on MATHS!! Something I’ve NEVER EVER done before.

OK, enough ranting. Now to get on with my science. (see what I mean?)

Assignments

@!^&!$(^&*#%@

Stupid Garden Development Plan is really pissing the hell out of me. AND IT’S DUE TOMORROW! I’m so stuffed. T.T I still have three maps to do… Stupid bloody Ag Department making such dodgy assignments. But then, the funny thing is, GardenDev is actually quite a fun assignment (apart from the fact that I tend to start assignments really late). So much planning and researching to do. Quite interesting…

After GardenDev, I have my stupid Major Work draft for Chandra Handa DUE TOMORROW AS WELL! And guess what, I haven’t started… I’m such a procrastinator. I also have the stupid SRP to start, which is due at the end of this term (stuff those classes whose SRP’s are due next term).

Bloody hell. I’m so screwed this long weekend. Thank God there’s Easter.

Evan.
